Shelley Mello, Is the School Nutrition Director for Acushnet Public Schools. She has been a resident of Acushnet for over 50 years. Her career at Acushnet Schools began in 2003 at an entry level position and worked her way through all the levels and in 2022 became  School Nutrition Director. 

She is a member of the USDA Food Advisory Committee &  School Nutrition Association of Massachusetts   

She completed the Certificate in Excellence in School Nutrition Program at Framingham University with The John Stalker Institute of School Nutrition. 

In 2021 she was nominated Manager Of The Year by the School Nutrition Association.

Her mission is to support the educational process by providing tasty, nutritionally balance meals options that the students will enjoy eating. This will help enable the students to focus on learning and not being hungry.
